Not being able to speak is not the same as not having anything to say. -Rosemary Crossley
Our team of speech and language pathologists is led by Alicia Rogers, MS, CCC-SLP. Alicia and her team provide exemplary, evidence based speech and language services to children of all abilities. They believe that functional communication is essential to leading the best possible life. They also believe that speech therapy should be fun and that children can have fun while learning new skills. Although we specialize in serving children with autism, our speech therapy team provides speech and language services to children, adolescents, and young adults with many different needs and diagnoses.
Speech and Language Vision Statement:
Communication is a basic human right. Everyone deserves a voice that others can understand. Life has meaning through relationships with others and self expression. At Alternatives ABA, we strive to help individuals of all ages and abilities to be able to “say what I want to say, to whoever I want to say it to, whenever I want to say it” (Gayle Porter). We recognize that learning is lifelong and that everyone can learn new skills when given individualized support.
The licensed speech and language pathologist will evaluate your child and discuss your family’s needs and priorities. They will provide strength-based, evidence-based, and child and family-centered intervention. Functional skills that will enable your child to communicate effectively with family, friends and those in the community will be the focus of treatment planning and intervention. Treatment sessions are always individualized, engaging, and fun!
